How we're helping endangered coho salmon at Muir Woods
Redwood Renewal is a multi-year series of projects to protect the health and biodiversity of Muir Woods National Monument and the Redwood Creek watershed. The National Park Service, with the help of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and other local partners, is enhancing the habitat at Redwood Creek for federally endangered coho salmon, whose numbers have decreased drastically from historic levels. The NPS and park partners have been working for many years to restore the Redwood Creek watershed from Muir Woods to Muir Beach and the Pacific Ocean. It’s all thanks to a community of supporters, from Muir Woods visitors to local residents and Parks Conservancy members, who have all h...

Wonderful restoration.
Taking care of the nature and appreciating human connection is what makes America beautiful . Thank you for caring. Native American bring us closer to nature and one another 🥳
There's more than one Redwood creek.
Saw a bird today with a similar type of tracker, so cool
I met him in 2018, and I asked him a dumb question about laundry. I assumed they were treated like military prisoners, but really, even after rough treatment and getting busted up regularly, they didn't have the human spirit beaten out of them. I had open warrants at that time, but was inspired by him to take accountability of my life and move forward. Life couldn't be better now!
They should have never closed this prison.

Alcatraz preacher must be THE WORST JOB IN THE WORLD 😢😢 NO JOKE😮
Get some beavers!!!!!!!!!! For free!!!!!!!!
Now you just need beavers!!
The parking lot is annoying.
in USSR also liked to move river beds. Everyone knows the result.
You guys are nothing but a government land confiscation program! After YOU! The Government "accidentally ruin land and private land ownership! Take a picture of 50 feet of pretty creek and claim! Yo did it. Bull *hit!
I met Bill a few times when he was thetd for the Alumni reunion. I was there as an escort for another Alumni, Linda Sather, who was the wife of Ted Sather, Coast Guard Light House keeper. Bill always did a great presentation and answered qurstions from the public. His book is pretty informative and fun to read. There's a laugh or two in every chapter.
Looks like perfect day for salmon!
What a marvelous legacy!

great work - nice report - something native is missing tho 📍
Met him this week. Wow
Been here a few times, it's so beautiful!
I’m watching this in 2023 & i’m Hoping it’s even more beautiful today & it’s great to see somewhere has improved & NOT RUINED by holiday resorts where most of the RUBBISH ends up on the ocean because RESORTS are the most of the problem well that & ALL the little islands that have shops selling JUKE food & that rubbish ends up on the ground & blows into the ocean.
I contacted my City Park District and I told them I want to plant some trees in the park and flowers... because it looks dead and boring all they do is collect paychecks and cut the grass..... they replied. Park District do not want residents trees...... go figure...
Heart warming……. Needs repeating nearly everywhere man has improved things in the past. I look forward to this being repeated around the world! :) :) :)
That floodplain didn't look very natural. All the stints in the ground were really artificial looking. Why couldn't they just plant grasses there? Weird plan, if you ask me.
This is the very first place above San Francisco that you can truly say you are in Northern California
Time to re-introduce beavers?
You like beavers don’t you
Time to add a couple beavers.
Done watching,sending love and support
In 1967 i used to find them in carmel river, carmel,ca
I saw him in front of Pier 33. He has a book signing table that I first thought he sold tour tickets!
He said he only quit ripping people off and stealing their money because he got old and hid his book makes him money. Not impressed.
At least he tells the truth. Most would lie. So I appreciate his honesty about it. Sometimes you need to expand your brain and think those words mean more than what you think. In other words as in the world today if everyone was able to make easy money and make a living there wouldn’t be many thieves and thugs as what we have in todays society. And that’s the truth!!
@@rickyfrench1262 Yes but has there ever been a time when survival was easy?
I met him a few days ago & he was really nice ❤ hope he's doing well
Touch on geoengineering techniques, cloud seeding , stratospheric aerosol injection,
he seems sweet
After my return from the Vietnam war in 1967, I was stationed at the Presidio and worked at Crissy field as an aircraft crew chief and mechanic. I was the crew chief on one of the two U-6 Beavers stationed there. There was also a couple of Cessna T-41 aircraft on the field. I also remember one Choctaw helicopter. I went for a maintenance check ride on the Choctaw once with some Major. We took off from Crissy and after take off he let me handle the controls. At the time I was a license fixed wing private pilot, but had no idea how to fly a helicopter. I flew the helicopter under the Golden Gate bridge like a drunken sailor. Much has changed at Crissy since I was stationed there. But I believe that our hanger was in what is now the Military Intelligence Service Historic Learning Center building. I now live only 185 miles from Crissy Field. I would like to go back there again someday and reminisce.
Couple months and it will be open! It’s a beautiful spot!
If anyone knows how to get in touch with this Man I would Love to talk to him. The Man Roland Simcox who he talks about being the most Dangerous man in Alcatraz is my Son's Grandfather. Ron died in 2006 . I would love to hear any stories William could share
i met him today visiting Alcatraz
@@unapendeja5905 how it went&?
I saw that guy and took a picture at the sf pier! He was selling his book.
Hows the undersized bridge final phase coming along? Is there an update to that?
This is such a wonderful documentation of the project. I hope this can be shared and showed everywhere!

Fabulous. Thx
Alcatraz actually rehabilitated this man by allowing him to utilize his incarceration to better himself while imparting knowledge only he could have, to generations to come. That’s an admirable reversal of fortune.
